Stock trans?

 

Yes, our trans can take a lot of power as attested by many forum users who have boosted their Elements to 350 whp.

 

I think I will get a standard size pulley with kit, will need to measure and put on a new belt. Looks like I may also need an aftermarket bracket to relocate the OEM tensioner so all pulleys align. Trying to learn by researching what others have done on their civics and rsx's.

 

Ok guys, just bought the TVS900 Merc Racing supercharger. My tuner and I are so excited for this build. Jose Mercado with Merc Racing has also been super encouraging and helpful in answering my questions thus far. Now, I have to be patient, because it will be approximately 10-12 weeks until I receive the supercharger kit. This gives me time to build a supercharger accessory list such as upgraded fuel pump, injectors, map sensor, coolant bypass plate, extra. Will need some feedback on that moving forward so I buy the right accessories. I know this is a little crazy but.... this just might turn out to be.... really awesome.

Keep the K24a. I’m just saying that for ~ the same scratch you could have a hybrid.

 

I don’t want to throw a wrench in your plans, but a used Chevy Spark EV motor is $1100 on eBay and puts down 400lbs torque.
Maybe grab a used Prius battery and rerout the rear drivetrain into the chevy motor?

That’s $2500 of what the fark power that will make your civic SI friends stop talking about how built their motor is

Interesting idea, but I prefer to keep my Honda motor and drive train. What really appeals to me about this build plan is that I don't have to pull out my motor and tear it apart. From what I can gather about Merc Racing, is that their superchargers are more reliable than a lot of custom turbo set ups. My tuner has told me that our k24 motors can take a lot of power. I will need to wait a few months for financial reasons but I am starting to get super excited about this plan. A Merc Racing supercharger on an Element has never been done before. Also, my tuner does not think it will be that hard to install. So... now I am starting to compile a supercharger parts list. I figure I will need a new fuel pump, injectors, spark plugs, serpentine belt, 4bar map sensor. Probably need to put on a custom exhaust header set up also, but still remain a little reluctant to do that. We will see if it is necessary.

 

Yes, my understanding with the Kraftwerks kits are that they can fit, but one must remove the air conditioning unit. For me here in Houston, TX that is not an option! Also the Kraftwerks kit is not a drop in kit, it includes no piping and will require serious fabrication. What I like about the Merc Racing kit is that one can keep both their A/C and power steering and it looks like it will not require much fabrication, if any.

I have heard from the company "Rotrex" but I do not know if this fits the k24 ....

Anybody? Was so excited to share this with the forum. We have waited for so long over the years for a supercharger that fits the Element. My tuner has told me the rods should be fine as long as we stay at 8-12 PSI of boost.

 

I was really hoping more people could chime in on this merc racing k24 supercharger. I am now re-considering my head swap plan since it would be around the same cost. I contacted Jose Mercado at Merc Racing and he thinks the supercharger should work fine on the Element since it is a k head. I have since been told by one mechanic that it is not a good idea and that my engine rods might not be strong enough. I believe someone recently on our forum based in Canada just turbo boosted his Element and is pushing 350hp on a stock motor. Please share what you all think.

You reposted my post (#4 of this thread) from 9 months ago. A lot has happened since then.

 

So since my first post on this thread I emailed a shop in the U.K (with no luck) and have been looking on Ebay for a used Jackson Racing supercharger. Then, my tuner and friend Jorge told me about Merc Racing. They say they have a supercharger for the K24 engines! You also get to keep your A/C. Could this finally be the answer? Anyone know if this could simply bolt on the Element? If not, how much fabrication would be necessary?
