Alright, so yesterday I removed (partially) the front bumper and replaced the windshield fluid pump for $15.99. :D I did it all by myself.... except for when my husband decided he was going to 'help'. By that I mean, he proceeded to unplug the pump. Fluid came shooting out and all over me. :mad: I then sentenced him to cutting wood to build me a desk in the shed. Leave the car stuff to ME!

If I can do it, anyone can. Saved me approx $120!
About to replace this for a third time! Nice to have this forum for pointers AND reference dates. Lol
 
I had this problem. Wipers did work but washer didn't. I replaced the front washer pump today and the rear pump was fine. I used compressed air to clean the hoses and everything works perfectly now. Total cost of the repair was $19.99 plus tax and two beers.
 
Well, I officially replaced the front pump for the third time today. $15.99 and some Xmas cookies later, I'm done. For whatever reason this was the most difficult. I broke 3 of the plastic pins and the two bolts on the passenger side are no longer doing their job effectively. Maybe it's age, but at least it's done. Hopefully for the last time!

What "plastic pins" do you mean, BurnishedGold? "Clip A, bumper," Honda p/n 91503-SZ3-003? And which two bolts are not working effectively? Are they, or are the nuts they go into, stripped?

Yes and I think whatever the bolts are supposed to go into are just not connecting anymore. I cannot get my hands in there to apply pressure/resistance for the bolt to do anything other than spin in place.
 
wiper washer pump

For someone not mechanical inclined, i was able to replace that pump in one hour, including taking down the fascia. What I learned is that you don't have to remove the whole fascia, just the side where the pump is(passenger side).But thanks to all the guys that posted before me, for making it easy. I'm very glad with my job. I got the pump at Auto Zone for $16.00. Make sure you get a couple of gallons of washer fluid, since you'll loose all of it when removing old pump.
 
2015 Honda CV R windshield washer

I had problem with the windshield washer not spraying. Thought it was plugged but after troubleshooting I discovered that the hose was chafed and had a small hole. It was located between the two wipers. Just removed the covering under the hood and it was an easy fix. Hope this helps out.
 
Great and useful thread as usual. I picked up a pump at NAPA for $18 and had it in within a half an hour. Thanks EOC!
 
You can get to the pump just by pulling back the inner fender liner. I just did mine. That was not the problem, it was the nozzles. They have check valves in them that won't move.

How much do you guys think a fair quote for replacing the pump is?

edit: shop near me quoted $110 for one hour.
Whatever you charge for 30 minutes of YOUR time would be a fair price. This is one of the easiest jobs I've ever done as a driveway mechanic.
 
My rear pump and window wiper just stopped working the other day. I suspected it was the fuse so I replaced the #9, 10A fuse. I turned it on and it flipped back and forth a few times (no fluid came out) then quit. Checked the fuse and it was blown again. Replaced the fuse again...same thing. Obviously replacing the fuse again is pointless.

Any ideas what it might be?

Remove the front fascia, and you'll find it. If you plan to do your own maintenance, the Service Manual explains all.
DON'T remove the facia- the bumper cover and basically entire front of the body- especially on later models where that part is painted.

The Service Manual says to remove the fender liner, but it is so flexible that is not necessary. You can get to pumps easily by removing fewer fasteners (of the same types!) from the fender liner front half and folding it out of the way. That gives you a direct (and erect) view of both pumps , connectors and their lines

It appears that the washer motor is toast. I have ordered an exact replacement from Advance Auto for $20. If they stock this thing for a model that is only 3 years old, then I know that there is a problem nationwide with the squirty motor. Each day I become more and more dissatisfied with Honda. I am now in the market to replace two other cars in my family and honda in not even in the running. Damn shame. After the $1200 brake job at 50,000 miles, my next car will probably be a Plymouth Town & Country Van.

Both pumps failing at the same time suggests that they were running at a lower voltage than designed. They and the low beam right headlamp connect to a ground screw bolt.That bolt is visible and accessible when working on the pump. It's above and on the engine compartment sidewall. It's worth your time to clean the corrosion off those connections and spraying the completed assembly with a silicone spray water repellent or Fluid Film.

The washer pump (both are identical) can be replaced with a BE004 universal for Hondas. I've replaced both of mine once, a few years apart. The first one was from Amazon. The mos recent from eEbay (item #392596125846). Each cost less than $10 delivered within a few days from US sellers. Externally they are identical to the OEM pump which has no makers name on it, just the same molded letter on the bottom.

btw: The hose to the rear may be kinked where it attaches to the pump. reach back and pull another inch or two forward so it enters the pump in a smooth curve.
